An old smokehouse has been reborn with the help from a Peterson sawmill in West Virginia, USA. Built in 1901, the smokehouse on the Wagoner Family Farm was built as a residence for Daddy Wagoner while he rebuilt the farmhouse that had burned down the previous year.
He was 20 years old at the time, and more than likely cut the old yellow pine siding on an old steam mill himself.
Jeff Sincell, who now lives on the property, made every scrap of lumber that he needed for the job on his 8" 24hp Winch Production Frame and says the Peterson mill "proved its worth once again". New siding was cut out of poplar over a three day period, and Jeff and two colleagues refinished the windows, door frames and trim as they went.
And with any luck, it will hold for another century or so!
