Peterson Portable Sawmills recently traveled to the Ligna 2003 exhibition in Germany, the world’s largest forestry show, as part of a wood technology group managed by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
Petersons were thrilled with the results they achieved on the trip.
Numerous contracts were made and several deals secured, including the finalizing of their new German distributor, an order for 16 mills to Africa, and “around 95

enquiries about our sawmills from people wanting to buy or distribute them,” says Peterson’s Marketing Manager, Rosie Coward.
“We are very pleased with the amount of interest in our sawmills, as well as the positive comments on their quality.”
Coward says that Ligna itself was like no other forestry show that you’ve ever been to really. It’s absolutely huge! We walked miles every day to get to the site.”
Coward says that other exhibitors took bicycles or scooters so they could get around the exhibits.
It was the first time that Petersons has been to Ligna.
“There was lots of qualified interest, real, genuine interest in talking to us about sawmills."
If you’re looking to buy anything in forestry you couldn’t go to a better place, it’s a forestry person’s playground!”
