Automated Swingblade Mill

High production, minimal effort
The Peterson ASM has revolutionized the portable sawmilling market, delivering increased and consistent production with little effort. This mill can make horizontal and vertical cuts, change the size or depth of the cut, and offers the option of removing the previous board cut all at the touch of a button from the operator.

Milling high volumes
The ASM is designed with high production in mind, therefore it can maintain fast and consistent production throughout the entire day. It is difficult to say exactly how many board feet/cube you will mill in a day because of all the variables in tree type, set-up, log and board size. But the following case studies will show you how productive it is for existing ASM owners.

Automation at its best
The ASM can operated with a patented Board Remover which can return the milled boards to either end of the mill. For single person milling this is ideal as it allows you to keep production rates up. The board remover also acts as a great stabilizer, which means it increases the rigidity and stability of the blade, making for a smoother cut with less deviation.

The ASM can do everything our manual portable sawmills can do but with less effort and at a greater production rate. The ASM Double Cuts with ease without having to turn the head of the mill like other brands of swingblade sawmills.
The Efficiency of the ASM
Using simple set works that don’t take a mathematician to operate, two buttons change the width of cut, and two buttons change the depth. The drive speed is controlled with a lever, which you move forward to go, and pull to bring back. It’s that easy to get incredibly accurate boards with high production.

Hi/Lo tracks come standard on the ASM allowing easy log loading and effective sawdust ejection under the Hi rail. Track extensions can also be added if required.
